The NTEC electoral education service provides, at no charge, resources for teachers and students who wish to conduct student representative council and house captain elections. Electoral education sessions are also provided as part of our school visits program, either on site at our offices in Darwin or Alice Springs or an electoral officer can visit schools or communities on request.
Resources available for conducting do-it-yourself elections include:
- Ballot paper templates for customizing with numbers and candidate photos
- Scrutiny sheet for vote counting, and
- Polling equipment
A comic book Have Your Say has been produced as background material to learning about elections and democracy. It complements NTEC face to face education services provided as part of our school visits program.
A collection of Information sheets explaining government in the Northern Territory, enrolment, voting rights and responsibilities, voting services, voting and vote counting, and electoral terminology are available on this website.
Links are also provided to promote access to resources on other electoral websites in Australia.
To request resources or for assistance with school elections please contact the NTEC office in Darwin on 8999 7633 or Alice Springs on 8951 5973.
