City of Palmerston election: Residents encouraged to register to vote

City of Palmerston residents have until 5:00 pm on Tuesday, 13 February to update their enrolment details in readiness for the election.

“Registering to vote or updating your enrolment details is easy and can be done online in a few minutes at ntec.nt.gov.au or alternatively,enrolment forms are available from any Australia post outlet,” NT Electoral Commissioner Iain Loganathan said.

“Nominations are now open. Anyone interested in nominating as a candidate for the City of Palmerston election must do so by 12:00 noon on Thursday 22 February when nominations close. Nomination forms and the handbook can be found at ntec.nt.gov.au, he said.

”Election day is Saturday, 17 March and voting is compulsory for all City of Palmerston residents. Applications for a postal vote can be made online at ntec.nt.gov.au
