City of Palmerston election: Candidates declared

​​​​Candidates for the Palmerston election were declared at the City of Palmerston council office today.

“There were 17 nominations accepted for the seven Alderman positions and eight nominations accepted for the one Mayoral position,” NT Electoral Commissioner Iain Loganathan said.

 

“Candidate photos and contact information is available on the website at ntec.nt.gov.au.

 

“Ballot papers will be printed over the weekend and postal vote material will be sent to electors from Monday 26 February. You can apply for a postal vote online at ntec.nt.gov.au,” he said.

An early voting centre opens at the Palmerston Shopping Centre on Monday 5 March, voters working in Darwin can also vote at the NTEC office at 80 Mitchell Street.
