Commission to review the electoral roll

The Electoral Commission is sending over 4,000 emails to electors in the divisions of Barkly, Katherine and Namatjira this week as part of a review of the electoral roll.

“The Legislative Assembly (LA) redistribution is set to commence in early 2019 and the review is to assist residents in ensuring they are enrolled for their current address, NT Electoral Commissioner, Iain Loganathan said.

“Electoral boundaries are reviewed 18-months before each LA election. The next LA election will be in August 2020.

“It’s important that you keep your electoral enrolment up-to-date and I encourage those electors who have moved residence, or are new to the Territory, to make sure they are correctly enrolled.

“Enrolling to vote or updating your address details is more convenient now with online enrolment; it only takes a few minutes and can even be done using your smartphone,” he said.
